Gerald "Buck" Foster, 79, was born December 7, 1929 in Talley Bend, Missouri to Everett Guiford and Ruby Elizabeth (Roberts) Foster. He was Baptized at the age of 15 in the Gallinipper Creek. He passed away January 17, 2009 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri.
Buck was united in marriage to Clarice June Hammond February 22, 1957. Buck was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed baseball and his favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. Buck was a member of the Local 101 Operating Engineers, American Legion and Concord Baptist Church. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as Corporal in the United States Army. Buck was a farmer and worked on several major construction projects in the area including Clinton Airport, Truman Dam and US 71 Highway. Upon retirement he enjoyed spendingtime with his cattle and visiting with friends at Hash's Muffler.
Survivors include his spouse, Clarice, daughter, Lila Foster, daughter, Rose and husband, Dr. Chuck Massengill, daughter, Melanie J. Foster; and son Everett and wife, Yumi Foster. His pride and joy were his two granddaughters, Emily June and Nami Olivia Foster. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved niece, Barbara and husband, Roger O'Mara. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Everett "Ed" Foster, Lester Foster and sister, June Foster Smith.
